Data Deletion Instructions

Your right to have your data deleted

IALFM respects your privacy. If we hold personal information about you — as a website visitor, donor, member, event or program registrant, job applicant, newsletter subscriber, or someone who wrote to us — you can ask us to delete it. We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live, and in line with the European Union and UK GDPR and other privacy laws that give you this right.

How to ask us to delete your data

• Email us at bod@ialfm.org with the subject “Data deletion request”.
• Use the contact form and say in your message that you are asking for your data to be deleted.
• Write to us at IALFM, Attn: Data requests, 3430 Peters Colony Road, Flower Mound, TX 75022.

Please tell us who you are (your name and the email address or phone number you used with IALFM) and what you want deleted: everything, or specific things such as contact messages, a job application and resume, newsletter subscription, dua requests, or your donor or member record. To protect you, we may ask you to confirm your identity before we act.

What happens next

• We confirm that we have received your request.
• We check that the request comes from you, and we tell you if we need anything more.
• We delete your personal information from the website and the systems we run, and ask the services that handle it for us to do the same, within 30 days. If a request is unusually complex we may need longer, as the law allows, and we will tell you why.
• We write to you when it is done, and tell you if there is anything we are required to keep and why. Copies in backups are removed as those backups are replaced in the normal cycle.

What we may need to keep

The law sometimes requires us to keep certain records, for example donation records and receipts needed for tax and audit purposes, and information needed to resolve a dispute or protect IALFM and the people it serves. We keep only what is required, only for as long as it is required, and we do not use it for anything else.

Other services that hold your information

Some information is held by services that work for IALFM or that you used yourself:

• Payments: Stripe processes donations and payments. We can delete what we hold; Stripe keeps its own records under its own rules.
• Newsletter: Intuit Mailchimp sends the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time, and we delete your address on request.
• WhatsApp, Facebook and other social media: messages, posts and comments you made there are held by those companies. You can delete them yourself in those apps, and we will remove you from any IALFM list or group on request.
• IALFM portal: registrations, membership, event RSVPs and education profiles on the IALFM portal are covered by the same request. Tell us you want portal records deleted too.

About IALFM’s Facebook connection

IALFM staff can connect this website to the IALFM Facebook Page so that announcements can be posted there. This connection is used only by IALFM administrators. The website does not collect personal information from visitors through Facebook, and visitors do not log in with Facebook. If you are an IALFM administrator who connected the site, you can remove it by choosing Disconnect under Announcements → Facebook in the website dashboard, and by removing the app in Facebook under Settings → Business Integrations.

Your other rights

You can also ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, limit how we use it, send you a copy in a usable format, or stop using it for a purpose you object to, and you can withdraw a consent you gave at any time. Use the same email or contact form. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you may complain to your local data protection authority.
