Sunday School — parent FAQs
When are drop-off and pick-up?
School starts at 10:30 AM and ends at 1:45 PM — please be in the parking lot then. The latest pick-up is 2:15 PM, when the volunteers leave; if you will be later, tell the administrators beforehand by phone, text or email.
How are absences and grades handled?
Up to two excused absences a year — email sundayschool@ialfm.org by the end of the Sunday missed. Grades: 30% attendance, 30% homework, 40% tests.
What is the dress code?
Girls wear hijab inside the masjid (spares available); boys wear pants and sleeved shirts. Modest, loose clothing with no pictures of people or animals.
What if my child has allergies?
Tell the administrator in writing at registration, and remind teachers on days your child must stay inside.
Are photos and videos taken?
Event albums are shared privately with the class’s families for two weeks. To opt out of individual photos, email the administrator in advance.
Is there support for special needs, and what do books cost?
We have no teachers trained for special needs and help on a best-effort basis. Textbooks are lent for $10 a year; workbooks cost $8–$27 by level.
